We had several wicked storms com thru our area yesterday, but last night two of the worst storms in my recent memory went thru. They were so intense that I'm pretty sure that the angels weren't bowling.
The thunder and lightning actually sounded like there was a war going on in heaven. The wind was rocking everything like a hurricane, and the rain fell from the sky so hard it was like Niagra Falls.
Fortunatly for me, I didn't lose power or suffer any damage, but some of my neighboring communities certanly did. For starters an entire Apartment Complex was evacuated for safteys sake, which is scary in itself. I'm sure the majority of the people didn't have a safe place to go in a situation like that.
There were also trees that knocked down power lines, fell on homes, and roofs that were blown off by the wind. Also many businesses couldn't open today due to storm damage, lack of electricity or both. Recovery from this storm could take several months, but I find that people tend to be helpful in times of crisis, and I'm sure generosity will come in abundance for those in need.
Did you ever notice how dependant we've become on electric?
Well that's a whole different blog, I'm off to check the bowling alley upstairs, my curiosity is getting to me.
